You might not have permission to use this network resource

Sometimes I found the error to open or check network shared resources. It shows “You might not have permission to use this network resource”.

We can avoid this error by doing the following registry changes.

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then double-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3. In the right pane, double-click restrictanonymous.
4. Make sure that the value in the Value data box is set to 0, and then click OK.
5. Close Registry Editor.
6. Restart the computer.

Try it. Hope that it will work.

Registry edit disabled by administrator

My pc is a member of a domain. According to group policy no domain user gets access on registry edit. It only shows the following error, while trying to registry edit.

But for emergency purpose I need to edit the registry. So, I did the following.

Run command prompt window and execute the following command.

reg delete HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Pol icies\System

And then restart the pc.

It worked. You can try yourself.
